Deena Jones:
18-27, African American. Young, thin & beautiful member of Dreams… the Diana Ross figure. Mezzo, full belt, some scat-singing. Must move very well. Beyonce Knowles role in film. Audition suggestion: “Dreamgirls.”


James “Thunder” Early:
25-40, African American. James Brown-like star who takes on Dreamettes as backup singers. Rock tenor. Singing lead riffs & vocal gymnastics required. Must move well, very physical role. Eddie Murphy role in film. Audition suggestion: “Fake Your Way To The Top.”


Marty:
25-45, African American. Veteran music agent. Baritone. Moderate dancer (helpful to move well). Danny Glover role in film. Audition suggestion: Something in style of show.
